17 years ago, I opened a small storefront with a big idea: to surprise and delight customers with custom cookies baked in minutes.
I came from a background in branding and marketing but had no experience running a store (and definitely no baking skills!). What made it work was an incredible team, our amazing customers and the countless stories of how we helped people create connections, celebrate special moments, and simply smile.
From that first shop, to a production kitchen, to delivering premium fresh baked gifts across Canada, we've grown into something I'm so proud of. Along the way, hundreds of amazing people were part of the journey. The most rewarding part for me has been the relationships with my team and watching them grow.
I always called Sweet Flour Bake Shop my first child. And at some point, you have to let them go and grow.
I recently sold the business to Eric and Gary Kimmel, two experienced entrepreneurs with strong backgrounds in building and growing businesses — and the same dedication to surprising and delighting our clients. I'll be staying on over the next year to support a smooth transition, and I'm genuinely excited for what's ahead for the team and the brand.
